    • Suggestion: instead of redirecting each arc to the related VRMMO's read more about this arc section, let actually make a page for those arc which include chronology of the arc and more about the arc. And to do that with little effort, move each lightnovel volume's chronolgy section into "Volume X/chronology" subpage and then embed those subpage into both the original light novel volume page as well as arc's page, also change VRMMO pages' read more about the game part into subpage too and then embed that subpage into both the original game page and the arc page.

For example, let's create an Phantom Bullet Arc page with the following content:

'''Phantom Bullet Arc''' is the third main arc in the [[Sword Art Online (series)|Sword Art Online series]] in which the story mainly focused on [[Gun Gale Online]].

      ==Chronology==
      {{Sword Art Online Light Novel Volume 5/Chronology}}
      {{Sword Art Online Light Novel Volume 5/Chronology}}

      ==Read more about this arc==
      {{Gun Gale Online/RM}}

        Loading editor
    • Alright show me a beta of this page and we can continue, but this idea countermands the throughness of the MMO pages which have everything related to their respective arcs.

        Loading editor
    • Well, I personally agree with having arc pages. Would make the game pages less messy. The whole reason I insist on using redirects for the chronology headings was just in case we ever decided to make a separate page for each arc, as editing a redirect is much easier than syncing 100+ pages.

We could use the arc pages for both a synopsis of the whole arc, and the grand link section, as well as anything else we think up of in the future.

However, I don't know about the sub-page thing. Unlike the Spanish wiki, I hate spamming pages and I do believe that sub-pages count as regular pages. Maybe a template or something?

Oh, and how do we handle side stories that take place in-between arcs, as well as the Progressive Arc?

        Loading editor
    • Well we can link the SS story pages to the game hubs and use that as the base. It would function with the MMO page being the mainpage of the Arcs and side stories. Progressive would fall under Sword Art Online or Aincrad (those pages have a wierd function.)

        Loading editor
    • If we do arc pages, then having the hubs on the game pages would be redundant.

        Loading editor
    • It won't since we need a place to connect the SS and Arcs together.

        Loading editor
    • Still, an arc page would practically only be used for 1. Full synopsis. 2. Links. Having the same wall of links on two pages would be rather redundant.

Template:Episode_Category_Navigation need to be changed correspondingly.

        Loading editor
    • I believe that for simplicity in management, we should just continue the count. However, for the page name, we could have it as something like "Sword Art Online II Episode X", since we'd be using redirects to link to it anyway.

        Loading editor
    • ...because we already have category:extra episode screenshots exist in the middle, i don't think it would be too much simpler to continue the count...and it would add to confusion if there're multiple counting system exist

        Loading editor
    • S2/Season 2 Episode x Screenshots for a category would work too, it isn't like categories have to be standardized to the name of the series but rather just be a place to put the screenshots. We also have the option of continuing the count from 26-50 as an option.

    • And suggestion: Order of priority on game info translation. Currrently we have multiple source for game info that might include translations for terms in IM/HF:

      • Different news sites like ANN or Crunchyroll's report
      • the blog that translate IM plot
      • The English IM patch
      • The official HF's NA/EU/AU release
      • The HF's Asian TW/HK release.

Which one should have higher priority over which others?

        Loading editor
    • C9... again, this is a suggestion box, while your latest post is a question... Stop using this topic as a general topic for everything.

Official translations are of course be on the list of the most reliable sources. The Taiwanese/Hong Kong translation is terribly done, so it has 0 priority. Even fan translations should be ranked above it, as at least they don't invent weird terms like "penetration". Don't know where to put news sites.

        Loading editor
    • Gytis if they translate HF using the same style as the english dub of the anime are you sure that it would be reliable?

Also C9 if it is a to-do list I don't mind if you use my message wall, people congregate there even more then here when a topic is posted. But Gytis is right, suggestions are changes to the wikia that we could do, like adding rainbow ponies into the background or have animated blood drip as the theme, not problems for those the call dim, call TUSF, and call KDTV buttons exist to solve problems with the wikia. Suggestion box is meant to act as a means of proposing changes and additions (eg. mechanical pony background, or adding affliliation criteria) not maintenance and housekeeping (this link is broken, category renaming, etc.) as well as asking about priority of things, that belongs in the editor's board for discussion. Suggestion box isn't meant for long drawn out debates, but just proposals that then get turned into threads for discussion if they can't be settled in one or two replies.

        Loading editor
    • We don't have any other translations that I would deem as "relaible". As an example, the fan translations of IM used "Shinon", so they're not any better than official translations, except that official translations at least have better grammar.         Loading editor
    • so, it is all agreed that we should separate? And as for other language wiki, we have gl: and pt-br: currently linked to us inside wikia's system but not on our list, and then for Japanese offsite wiki, we have a new general one at [1] and there are also some HF wiki that each have different info at [2][3][4][5], an IM wiki at [6] and a SAO EW wiki at [7], and an anti-SAO wiki at [8]

anyway, is someone going to execute the split of affiliation list? edit: tusf done this

and on an additional note, when asked about can wikia have wikipedia:Wikipedia:File mover right, ;wikia responded that they can add a group of similar right to wikia and then the respond ask about to what extent would those with the right could do, with Special:ListGroupRIghts listing some available options. But they said extra groups aren't always needed and such wikia limit their scope to 10 individual rights that differ from another groups.

    • Seeing as both the Spanish and Russian wikis have a navigation section (links to all the important categories) on their main pages, I was wondering whether we could have something like that as well?

        Loading editor
    • Alright approved.

        Loading editor
    • because the current system of having all manga chapters that yet to publish into volume being grouped into page for latest volume number look like a bad idea, i recommend doing a main page for each manga volume release and have each manga volume page be a page that separate from the manga release page. i.e. establish a page called Sword Art Online - Progressive and put ch 10, 10.5, 11 into it instead of putting them into saop manga vol2 page because they are not belong to saop manga vol.2

        Loading editor
    • We have a latest novel section on the main page, so where's the latest episode one?

        Loading editor
    • I think we used to have that but when the anime ended it became obsolete. We could remove the admin elections section to free up space and place the next anime episode below the poll, that should be sufficient allocation of space, I think we've maxed out on admins for the year.

        Loading editor
    • above the poll would probably be better.

        Loading editor
    • I'd rather group it with latest novel rather then have: latest episode, poll, latest novel.

        Loading editor
    • I suggest turning the suggestion box into a blog post. The comment feature of blog posts would make it much easier to keep track of and comment on specific ideas. As it is right now, old ideas are buried by new ideas and it's hard and annoying to find the ideas that have been abandoned because they were buried.

        Loading editor
    • so, no matter any of those preference, when are we going to put up the latest/next episode box onto the mainpage?

        Loading editor
    • Blogposts eventually fade away regardless of last response, cause it goes by latest released blog post and not most amount of comments I believe (maybe I'm wrong) This can always be found and will not change position overtime.

        Loading editor
    • That's what a link at the top of this post would be for? As this topic doesn't get buried, people could find the blog post via this thread.

        Loading editor
    • forum post without new reply would still sink.

        Loading editor
    • Except that this topic is in a board with only a few threads, so there's not too much danger of that.

        Loading editor
    • yeah the admin support board was designed to be small in topics but effective, call the admins, vandal slaying, and suggestion box if it became the editing discussion board with 100+ topic then C9's point would be valid, but all problems for admins fall into those 3 types of threads very easily.

        Loading editor
    • Dim, that does not change the fact that a forum topic is not really suitable for multiple topic talk. All I can see is that this topic is messy and at least half of the ideas here are simply buried because certain people (*looks at Dim*) don't bother reading anything but the last few posts and let the old posts just die.

That's why I recommend leaving this topic up, but having a link to a blog version on the original post for better management of the suggestions.

        Loading editor
    • The other option is having sub-boards in the admin support, I think that is possible, that way the suggestion box could be a board filled with threads.

        Loading editor
    • Option rejected due to being unrealistic. There's no option for sub-boards as far as I can see. The only way this would work is if we make a new board for it outside of admin support.

        Loading editor
    • plus even if there exist such an option, those thread in sub-board would not be automatically followed by admin

        Loading editor
    • True, this is the most practical since I'm notified whenever someone posts here. Blogposts don't have that option, but yes they are better for multi topic.

        Loading editor
    • Either way, this one-for-all topic isn't working. Either we make a suggestion board or a suggestion blog post. Both versions are fine, but neither will notify any admin about a new suggestion.

        Loading editor
    • I got nothing then this is the better of the two options as far as I can tell cause it can get my attention effectively rather then have 10 topics that I have no clue existed, of course there is the option of me checking regularly but that only lasts for weeks to months and can't be considered a long-term solution cause I know my weaknesses well enough.

        Loading editor
    • "This" refers to? If it refers to this topic, then I've already said - it DOESN'T work because you leave half of the ideas buried.

        Loading editor
    • You do know this thread isn't only my responsibility it is suppose to be all the admins, but yes I will miss some, but more often then not I do address what is asked of me. I don't think I've overlooked anything and if I didn't respond to it, it is because there were other ideas that held a higher priority, if the issue was large enough I created another thread to address it. Looking through the thread there haven't been any major suggestions I've overlooked or at least talked about but then received no future response about.

Gytis I think you are talking about how I rarely check the editor's board topics, this thread I am very dilligent with unless RL prevents me and the messages here stack up.

        Loading editor
    • "Higher priority"? Dim, most suggestions are IN-DE-PEN-DANT. Almost every suggestion can be addressed at the same time. If you don't, then your system is flawed.

As far as I've seen, you didn't even flinch at my suggestion for a UC tracking page. I had to post a new topic for C9's suggestion about category changes even after he repeated the suggestion just to get you to notice it. HOW is this efficient?

        Loading editor
    • UC tracking?

    • See what I mean? You didn't even notice my message about them. But, apparently, you can't even read the latest message properly, as I clearly said: "I had to post a new topic for C9's suggestion about category changes even after he repeated the suggestion just to get you to notice it."

        Loading editor
    • Even if you say the system isn't perfect, it's all we got. I can't change what can't be changed, short of each case be sent as a message directly to me then it would work. Wow that would work, alright how about each suggestion should just be posted on my message wall, that way they stay separated we can manage multiple issues, and I would be for- I mean able to address all of them without ignoring anything.

        Loading editor
    • No, it's not all we have. It's all you're willing to have because you are lazy. How about instead we go with my idea of either making a board or blog post for all the ideas and if some ideas need your opinion, we could post a link to the idea on this topic? That way, we'd have room for discussion, this topic wouldn't go overboard with posts and ideas wouldn't be overlooked.

    • Why not create a new discussion board (on the forum of course) for wiki suggestions? (⌒-⌒; )

    • Board or topic? If it's the former, then that's what I'm advising. If it's the latter, then it won't solve anything aside from reducing loading times and iPad crashapiness.

    • Board of course...but when you suggested a blog, how much work will it take to manage (and view) all the suggestions?

        Loading editor
    • The same as with a board, maybe less annoying to create a new suggestion as you wouldn't need a title. The only real difference is how the suggestions are laid out.

    • Alright let's give the board a try, but I know that while yes it can handle multi-topics well, it will be like the editor's board and knocking down all of them will be impossible and we return to the same problem except being better about dealing with multi-topic, but no notifications, etc.

    • Resolved ones will just be moved to the graveyard so that only unresolved suggestions are in it. That's what I did with editor discussions. At least some progress is better no progress.

    • There, I moved most unresolved suggestions to the new board. 6 topics already. Now I just need the discussions for them to restart.

    • Alright I'll guarentee to check them weekly whatever is most important will float to the surface probably

    • should the affiliation thread place in suggestion box?

        Loading editor
    • The current affiliation topic is more of a discussion of our policy than a suggestion discussion, thus it's fine where it is now.
