- 3rd Class Noble
- Elite Swordswoman-in-training (previously)
Sortiliena Serlut (ソルティリーナ・セルルト, Soruterina Seruruto?) is the mentor of Kirito, during his 1st year in the «North Centoria Imperial Sword Mastery Academy», and the 2nd-seat elite swordswoman at the Academy, where she is known as the "Walking Tactics Manual".
She has very long straight hair and can easily be considered beautiful. As an elite-swordswoman, she customized her uniform to a purple one.
Sortiliena is doing late practicing with her valet, Kirito, and they talk briefly about how much Kirito has improved since he enrolled. After a while, they stop and Kirito tells her that he wants to show her his true ability, so he promises that the next day, as a graduation present, he will show her his true skills.
The next day she finds out that Kirito is with Uolo Levanteinn. When she catches up with them, she encounters the fact that they are going to spar as a punishment for Kirito, but, being unable to do anything to stop the sparring, she wishes luck to Kirito and just watches the combat. After the battle, she congratulates Kirito for his performance against Uolo, and invites him, along with Eugeo and Gorgolosso, to her room to celebrate.
On the last tournament before the graduation, she finally defeats Uolo using the Secret Move «Whirl Current», that she mastered in just one month after seeing Kirito's battle with Uolo, and graduates as the top student from the «North Centoria Imperial Sword Mastery Academy». Two weeks after graduating, she participates in the «Empire Swordsmanship Tournament», but lost against a Norlangarth Knight who cut her whip and sent her sword flying.
It was later revealed that the Knight who defeated her was Eldrie Woolsburg.
