Background
Edit
Selka moved into the church when she was 10 and she started studying the Sacred Arts all day. This is because she felt that she had to fill in Alice's place after she was taken away, but no matter how hard she tried Selka couldn't match Alice's ability. Ever since Selka moved into the church she had never once gone back to her parents house. Although she is of similar age to all the orphans living in the church she takes care of them and helps with worship and meals.
Appearance
Edit
Selka is described as a young girl with tea coloured hair and eyes of the same color. During the day she wears a slightly oversized black habit with a white collar and has her hair braided into a ponytail During the night, after bathing she changes into a cotton nightgown, does her hair up into three tails and puts on a headband.

Selka shows Kirito around the church and also shows him to the guest room where he would be sleeping. She confirms that he knows how to use the lamp before leaving. The next day Selka wakes Kirito up, saying he would be late for worship if he didn't. Selka is surprised when Kirito starts taking off his shirt to get changed so she quickly tells him to wash his face before leaving the room.
That night, when Selka goes to go check the bath but Kirito is using it so she asks him to unplug the stopper and turn off the lamp when he finishes. Before Selka leaves Kirito says that he wants to ask her something; so she tells him that she wait in his room as the people in her room are sleeping.
When Kirito enters the room Selka hands him a glass of liquid that he thinks is nectar. Selka tells him that it is an elixir made by priests that could recover any life lost due to illness or injuries. Selka them tells him that it is forbidden for her to enter a boy's room after bathing but since this is a guest room it doesn't count, although Sister Azariya would still scold her if she finds out. Kirito then apologises then says he wants to hear about her sister. Selka starts trembling but says she doesn't have an older sister. Kirito then tells her that Eugeo told him about Alice. They go on to talk and Selka explains how everyone seems to have forgotten about Alice and how Eugeo never smiles anymore. She then says she keeps being compared to Alice, but she can't even remember what her sister looked like. When the bell tower rings 9 o'clock Selka gets up and started walking to the door, but she turns around and asks if Kirito knew why Alice was taken away. Kirito explains to her about how Alice touched the Land of Darkness before Selka leaves.
The next day is a rest day and so Selka leaves to go to that cave at the Edge of the Human world without telling anyone. She goes there knowing that she could not mimic her sisters actions but to get a glimpse of the Dark Territory hoping it would help her understand why Alice broke the Taboo Index. While in the cave Selka runs into a pack of goblins that capture her with the intent of selling her in the Dark Territory. She is knocked unconscious and when she wakes up she see Kirito who asks her to help Eugeo who is dying. He asks Selka to use her Sacred Arts to heal him and manages to convince her to help. Selka uses the Sacred Art: «System Call! Transfer Human Unit Durability Right to Left» to transfer «Life» from Kirito to Eugeo. They manage to heal Eugeo and Kirito carries him on his right should while returning back to the village with Selka.
Later, when the celebrations for Eugeo completing his Sacred task were underway, Selka drags Kirito back to his room and hands him a glass of water as he had had a little too much to drink and was starting to be affected by the alcohol. The two then talk about Eugeo leaving the village before Kirito kisses Selka on the forehead, saying that he would bring Alice back to Rulid Village.
