Hello there. While I'm not Dim and not the one in charge of affiliations, I figured I'd share that this wiki has already confirmed a guideline for handling affiliations (see http://swordartonline.wikia.com/wiki/Affiliation). Basically, we only accept affiliations with wikis that meet at least one of the requirements that the community has set (they are listed on the page I linked). If you would like to form an affiliation with out wiki, you should mention which of the requirements you feel your wiki meets. It doesn't guarantee that the request will be accepted, but I believe it will speed up the talks.
Gretting! I'm Sulina, one of admins from the Rokuaka Wiki dedicated to the Akashic Records of Bastard Magic Instructor series. I hope to receive your favorable response if we two wikis could band together. If you accept, we will show our well-meaning attitudes by together putting wikia wordmark (here's our wordmark) in an appopriate section on the homepage. Thank you for taking your time.
Hello there. I'm not Dim, but I would like to notify you that this wiki has set some criteria for affiliations. Basically, the two wikis must have something in common for an affiliation to be accepted. For a list of criteria, please see our Affiliation page.
Sorry have been busy the past but yeah I don't think Rokuaka has any common points with SAO as far as I know at least there hasn't been an official crossover or such but then again my knowledgge is less that Gsimenas in this regard so I might have missed something.
I'm not Dim, but let me answer anyway. There is a lot missing regarding information on Ordinal Scale, because no Blu-Ray / DVD version exists to verify information. Most of the stuff the community remembered from watching Ordinal Scale in theaters. As we don't allow speculations or unsourced information, we can't add everything yet. Not to mention that the OS article is rewritten / under construction and currently off-limits for people not listed under page adopters, since it's subpar compared to other articles.
This aside, you seem to have missed the community idea, everyone is allowed and encouraged to edit articles, even not logged-in users. Thus you are free to add the missing information yourself, as long as you follow the guidelines of this wiki.
Post scriptum: Check what you write before you hit publish, the movie is called Ordinal Scale..
Edit: By the way, what boss monster are you referring to? We covered all of them
The reason we have to take a hard stance on linking illegally is because this site is subject to wikia standards, not just our own, if we actively break them they could sanction our wikia well they would probably just remove it and give a warning, or worse.
Besides wikia has a deal with a few streaming sites like Youtube and Hulu so there is some element of business in there not sure what.
Anyhow, linking to sites that stream copyrighted material without permission is not allowed, but you can tell people where to find it outside of the wikia, there is a whole secret "underworld" for that.
As for the creature list from the video games it's still in the works, we don't have a lot of editors that have the game and are proficient in editing, most if not all monsters from the video games will not get their own page due to lack of content, it will likely be a list format.
Here are the beta pages used to amass information but are not officially published yet
Note, that if you do make a page for a single video game monster it can not be more than a sentence, try and aim for 3 sections worth of content. Look at the guidelines of the wikia for creating pages, or if you are out of ideas talk to Gsimenas by message or discord.
For starters, get a list of the monsters and their charateristics. I highly doubt the possibility of making separate pages for game adaptation monsters. We don't have the resources to cover that much in depth, nor would there probably be enough content for separate pages.
When I proposed to set up a standard for ban times years ago, you rejected the idea in favour of case-by-case basis. Now you ninja in an edit with arbitrary ban times on the vandal thread without ANY discussion with the other admins... That's NOT how things work on the wiki ya know... Especially since your numbers drastically differ from the ones we've been using for months.
Ah well I figured sine I'm gone I would do something since I've missed out plus I'm sleep deprived and sufering mild hypothermia when I did it so yeah my bad. To be honest a case by case basis is what I prefer too, but since the new admins (Mamue and Zehaffen) aren't aware or practiced in vandal smiting I figure I would give a quick guide but they seem to be doing well nice smiting going by the thread! Well that being said I'll adjust the ninja edit appropriately to reflect a proper level of autonomy that I truly meant for not the unilateral decision it looks like but there is one point I will make a unilateral decision on. Once again I'm sorry for the bad and quick work
Well that being said my main concern is for when the vandals will flare up when the DVD comes out, It always flares up when a new content is released to general public
by now, you should know me as a regular on the wiki. I've been content mod for quite some time, and want to apply as an admin for theme design (currently the role of KDTV). We discussed this on Discord, and it would be good to have an active admin for this topic again, with Ordinal Scale and a possible Season 3 afterwards coming up.
I'm confident in CSS, but Gsimenas said this wasn't really a requirement for theme designs.
It would be great to hear from you regarding this matter.
Well if you want to assist KDTV then if he gives the say so I'm for it, he's usually out but if you message him you can get through Ideally I would like to change the theme to match Ordinal Scale as it is airing soon, but there is no rush nor pressing need so far.
I'm new to this stuff, and some time to make myself familiar with it was accounted. OS airing is especially the reason I want to change the themes on the wiki. I once made a CSS change request to KDTV because TUSF wasn't available and never got a reply. That's the reason I assumed he was inactive, as well as never being on chat and a latest contribution in March 2016.
I will message him about this request. Thank you for your support.
Actually, Mamue had tried to message KD for something, but never got an answer from him. I believe that we should only have active people as admins where possible. Not necessarily active in the sense of editing, but active in the sense that they respond to messages in a timely manner. Unfortunately, I'm not sure if KD actually checks on the wiki anymore, let alone has the time for anything wiki-related, so I support having a more active user filling in for him.
As for the theme, Ordinal Scale is coming out in a month. It's about time we change our theme - it's highly outdated, as it comes from Lost Song, when the latest game is Hollow Realization.
Dim, regular admin status only allows me to change "Chat Moderator" and "Discussions Moderator" rights. I can't touch rights like "Content Moderator", "Rollback" and other Bureaucrat-only-modifiable rights, so I can't grant them to trustworthy regular users on the wiki. Since you're barely around on the chat, it would be nice if I could manage these things myself. Or you could be around the chat more often to be more in touch.
Also, we now have a Discord chat. You should join us there. (https://discord.gg/3tBgszY) We can also make a separate channel for admins there if we need to talk in private.
You know this is a long time coming and if TUSF and KDTV were here they would agree, that you do need bureaucrat status to be honest if they need it too I would grant it to them out of all the users you three are the ones I would trust with Bureaucrat status. Sure a few others but they have gone inactive.
Well if there is ever a change needed let me know also try not to grant bureaucrat status to anyone else, that power is somewhat dangerous.
Hi there Dim1! I've talked to you before, but in case you forgot, I'm TheNoraShinki, one of the admins on the mahouka wikia.
I’m trying to build a discord server for editors, fans and followers of various anime, light novels and manga wikia to chat on and get help on editing.
At the same time, we are aiming to create an easier way by which the anime, light novel and manga community can have more senior/experienced users help new users. I’m also aiming to have some more experienced users to help write some tips and tricks for new users. At the same time, I hope we can help some of the smaller, less well known communities get some more exposure. I wish to build the anime, light novel and manga wikia into a more cohesive whole and hopefully this section of the wikia community as a whole.
I really hope you’ll be willing to work with us! You are needed to make this collaborative effort possible!!
Please note that the above link only needs to be used once for you to get onto the chat server, for subsequent visits,I recommend you log in from https://discordapp.com/ or download the app, after you have registered with an email. Thanks!
Please use the same username on there if possible, hope to see you there!
Understood, my advice if you want editor tips and tricks talk to Gsi and Zehaffen, as they are the active editing admins on the wikia. I personally love the idea but have no experience in discord so give a bit to familiarize myself with it.. For theme and coding TUSF and KDTV are excellent. Probably the only thing I could offer to your wikia newbies as advice would be to establish priorities for kickstarting since I seem to have a knack for starting wikias until they grow out of my control.
The main aim for now is to gather as many willing admins or experienced users, if u could grab some users, it would be great! I think by doing this first it would be easier to think of common editing mistakes or simple things that can be done on wikia. Personally, I've found that there a lot more people feeling lost due to the sheer amount of work each wikia has rather than not wanting to contribute. Wikia users and quite a few admins (myself included!) have a tendency to drop big walls of text, which can make it hard for newer users to digest, I think if we could make some easy guides for some of the simpler, yet helpful stuff to wikia, it will benefit the anime and manga community!
oh and if possible, could you please leave a greeting in the #greetings channel in the format of I’m <username>, I was invited by <username of whoever invited you>. I am <regular user/mod/admin/etc> from <wikia>.
