  • I'm pretty sure we've had this conversation before, but I'll repeat myself one more time. New pages require a set minimum of content before they can be created. The minimum is 2 paragraphs of text or 1 + image. And yet again you created a page that does not meet this requirement. If you cannot procure enough content to meet such requirements, then please leave the page creation to someone who can. Consider this your first formal warning.

Additionally, in case you haven't noticed, this wiki does not westernise names. Therefore, it should be "Yuuki Asuna", not "Asuna Yuuki". Please do not break uniformity.

    • You shouldn't be in a hurry. This is not a new wikia where even the tiniest bits of content are needed. On this wiki, we focus more on quality than quantity. I'm in a hurry to add content too, but I still make drafts for new pages to gather enough content before publishing. If you have too little time to do it properly, then you should focus on less time-consuming edits than new pages.

  • Please follow the convention for chronology headings. The headings are either the names for side stories, or the month and year. "The crusade" is supposed to be "August, 2024".

  • Daniel, who allowed you to create a page for episode 7? The rule on this wiki is to create a page one week in advance. For episode 3-6, we at least had a brief synopsis of the episode from the Japanese TV guide, so I could at least leave the page alone even if some guy created it too early, but for episodes 7-9 we only have unreferenced episode titles, which means that the page you created does not even qualify as a stub (i.e. at least 2 paragraphs of text or 1 + image). I thought I had already given you a lecture about that...

The skill here was actually Vertical Square. Before adding a usage, check if a novel instance is listed. If it's not, it's most likely a different skill.

  • I'm sure « and » will help you out better than using < and >, lol. Just copy and paste.

  • In case you did not know, we have requirements for image gallery pages. An image gallery can only be made if the character has at least 5 images. Please consult a senior editor before making new pages, as there might be some requirements for them that you are not aware of and we have not yet made a guideline to cover all concerns.

  • I'm greatly surprised that you were able to source your images on your first try, seeing as most people don't bother to do so, however, all images must also be properly categorised. Please read our Image Guideline for detailed instructions on what images require.

    • Thanks! I'm glad to hear I did something right; I made sure that I described the source this time to avoid my images being regarded as fan art, and end up being regarded as making a violation. But I guess I forgot to categorise them.

I'll do whatever I can to source images that I'll upload next time; if it won't bother you, I'll leave a message when I feel unsure about the source of an image that I plan to upload. I know that this wiki only allows official images.

This idea came to me, but would you mind if I(or anyone) can post images in your user page to be used as proposals for this wiki's theme? It's not that I don't like the current theme of this wiki; it's a nice theme suited for the coming season. I was just thinking of ideas to make this wiki more attractive. I'm not an admin, so I know I can't change the theme. This is just a suggestion; you can disregard it if you think it's a bad idea.

    • If you are unsure about something, be sure to just ask me. Answering a question is far less annoying than having to clean up after someone.

"After killing a Ragout Rabbit, which dropped a rare S-class meat, while walking back from the 74th Floor's Labyrinth, Kirito quickly used a Teleport Crystal to warp to Algade to sell the item to Agil for a high price."

The format of this sentence is:

Time, inserted description of the rabbit dropping a rare item, continuing description of the time, main clause.

Why did you split this sentence into several sentences with no relation among them?

    Your version:

"Kirito killed a Ragout Rabbit, which dropped a rare S-class meat. While walking back from the 74th Floor's Labyrinth, Kirito quickly used a Teleport Crystal to warp to Algade to sell the item to Agil for a high price."

    You're saying:

    • Kirito killed a rabbit (with a lack of a proper introduction to the sentence)
    • Then, at some unnamed point while walking back from the Labyrinth (did he return to the Labyrinth just to go back from it again?) he randomly decided to teleport to town (since you're saying that after he killed the rabbit, he continued walking and, for no apparent reason, decided to port)

See how your changes completely mess up the logic of the whole sentence? That's why you should read the entire sentence before making changes, as it may be using a complex structure (especially if it's written by me) and changing it carelessly will result in such ambiguities.

P.S. Be careful to check your facts when editing.

    • Okay...I probably misinterpreted it and used the wrong words and structure...I never thought it would change the entire meaning of the sentence.

Thanks for telling me I made errors in my edit...I might have screwed up in my future edits on the grammars of articles...

        Loading editor
    • That's the thing about grammar. You can't just change things randomly without reading into the whole sentence, or you might end up changing the meaning of the sentence.

If there is no comment, then send a PM to the person to find out why it was undone. Either way, if your edit was undone, please find out why it was undone, before redoing an undone edit without good reason.

In this case, the anime is poor at adapting content. Where the book said a Sword Skill was used, the anime portrays it as a regular hit (seeing as all Sword Skills have light effects). Thus, although the book says that Horizontal was used, the anime does not portray it being used.

    • I apologize for all the mistakes that I caused and that my editing activities are of low standards...it would just seem to me that I could not find any pages to make major or minor edits(most of them do not seem to need additional edits, and I have not yet encountered a page with widespread bad grammars)...

    • check pages that need editing through either User Pages, as many editors have pages that need editing, or you can goto the Category:Candidates_for_Revision and look there for edits, as pages in that category need a good going over.

  • I've noticed that you've created a page for Filia. However, you should know that we have certain requirements and guidelines to follow when creating new pages. Here are a few things to remember:

    • All new pages MUST have at least 1 paragraph of text + picture or 2 paragraphs of text to be fall into the stub category (such pages need to be marked with {{Stub}}. Anything that falls below that is considered to be a blank page, all of which are immediately marked for deletion.
      • Pages are no longer considered to be stubs when they exceed 2,000-2,500 bytes in page size or if the specific category of pages is known for having limited information (e.g. Sword Skills and Spells; these pages follow separate criteria). If a non-stub page is still missing content, it is marked with {{Under Construction}}.
    • All images should be uploaded in .png format, unless the image is too large in size.
      • This rule is needed as Wikia's thumbnail algorithms for .jpg format pictures are bad, making .jpg image thumbnails look pixelated.
      • jpgs are only used when the file in png format would take up 4-5 MBs or more.
    • All pages have certain formatting guidelines. I.e. which sections each type of page has, the standard templates to use for such pages, chronology headings and order, categories and that the leading paragraph needs to mention the subject in bold text with the Nihongo template if it's a name or term that is official. See New Page Templates for some formatting templates to use for new pages.
    • It is generally unpreferable to add empty sections. Even sections that have little to no information should have at least one sentence of content.
    • Not widely known facts and VAs should be referenced. We do not approve of speculation on articles, unless it was speculation made by the characters themselves.

There are probably more things to mention, but I can't remember any more at the moment.

In the case of your new page:

    • It barely meets the minimum requirements, but it does meet them nonetheless. However, you should have marked it as a stub.
    • Your image is in jpg format, even though there's no good reason why it couldn't have been uploaded as a .png. Even .pngs which are converted from .jpgs are still better for non-large images, as then wikia doesn't pixelate the thumbnails.
    • You got most of your formatting right, except the bolding of the subject and the use of the Nihongo template.
    • You've added plenty of empty sections. I can understand not adding anything to chronology (though you should have just skipped the section until the game came out), but we know what Filia looks like, so I don't see why you left appearance empty. Also, if you made a gallery section, then why didn't you link Filia/Image Gallery? We've had it for awhile now...
    • I see two cite requests on your new page. VAs should be referenced, as there have been several issues of people writting in the wrong VA. ANN doesn't count as a source for that. It should either be an official announcement, magazine page, credits, official twitter or facebook etc. Also, you've claimed that she'll be a main heroine. Do you have any reference for that? The game isn't even out yet, thus such a fact should be referenced to avoid cases of speculation.

    • Okay...I'll take heed of your advices when I make pages later on. I'll go to the page I have created and put in the things which you have suggested, I'll try to make certain contents specific.

I'll add more contents once I've gathered more official information

Thanks a lot...Your notification will be of great help...;)

    • A bit of a grammar nazi: advice or pieces of advice, but never advices.

Oh and about your last edit:

"Not much is as of yet known about her, apart from her status as an Orange player."

I see 9 words here that are completely meaningless. Avoid unnecessary phrases like that. If there is no other information available, then phrase it in a way that would make it obvious without pointing it out bluntly or just avoid saying it at all.

"She is known to be an Orange player and has a dark past."

Such a sentence would mention what we know, while the fact that it is really abstract implies that we don't know much about it.

Edit: When making new pages, you might want to create a draft for the page first. This way, you could gradually work on the page until it's good enough to be published. Also, if you encounter any concerns while writting the draft, you can ask other editors for opinions or help.

If you want to make a draft on this wiki, you could make a subpage for your user page. E.g. User:Daniel 1939/Draft . Or you could do it on an external site. I personally use google docs for my drafts.

    • I've noticed that you're still editing your User Page, and it is quite annoying just seeing you do that everyday, if you can't find a page to edit, just click Random Page, and read through the pages that you get, and see if any of those need editing, or even go over some of the pages edited recently, as some editors may make a mistake.
