«Laughing Coffin» (笑い棺桶, Rafin Kofin^?) is an infamous Player Killing red guild in «Sword Art Online», due to the intensity of their Player Killing activity.

Established on January 1, 2024, they were known for torturing and killing their victims.^[1] One method of killing players involved inflicting paralysis on a player and then killing them slowly and painfully. On August 2024, they were destroyed by a high-level clearing crusade of fifty players, which included Kirito and Asuna, resulting in the deaths of twenty-one «Laughing Coffin» members and eleven crusaders. It is said that the Laughing Coffin members refused to surrender, as they had found out about the crusade and ambushed the crusaders instead. The crusaders had almost lost the battle but Kirito, in desperation, killed two Laughing Coffin members, giving the crusaders the will to fight.
