«Hiding» (隠蔽(ハイディング), Haidingu?) is a skill in «Sword Art Online» that allows a player to conceal themselves from players and monsters.

MechanicsEdit

The Hiding skill can be activated by pressing on a shortcut button at the right side of the player's field of vision[1] or by selecting the skill via the menu. Once the skill is activated, a small indicator, called the «Hide Rate» (隠れ率(ハイド・レート), Haido Rēto?), appears at the bottom of the player's vision and indicates how well the player blends in with their environment.[1] The rate increases or decreases depending on the type and colour of the armour worn, the brightness and the surrounding terrain as well as the player's movements and hiding skill level.[1] The player's Hide Rate also decreases if someone is gazing at the location where the player is hiding.[1]

While a player is using the Hiding skill, their Color Cursor is hidden from other players' view.[2]
