Gun Gale Online

Abbreviated to GGO. In a world ruled by firearms and steel, players strive to be the greatest gunner of them all. PK-ing is encouraged, and the game system rewards defeating other players in the same way it does defeating AI-controlled monsters. The weapons of GGO are classified as either live-ammo or optical guns, and the currently held theory is that live-ammo guns are best against players while optics are best against monsters. There are major differences between the two aside from their stats - optical guns all have fictional names and hand-designed appearances, while the live-ammo guns are modeled and named after existing guns. For this reason, the majority of GGO players are gun fanatics.

PGM Ultima Ratio Hecate II

This gun is 138 centimeters (4.5 feet) long, weighing 13.8 kilograms (30.4 pounds). It fires enormous .50-caliber rounds (12.7 by 99 millimeters, or 0.5 inches wide). In the real world, this would be categorized as an anti-materiel sniper rifle meant for piercing military vehicles or structures - its overwhelming power makes it forbidden to use against human targets. The name "Hecate" was taken from the Greek goddess of the underworld.

The Hecate II within the world of GGO is an anti-materiel sniper rifle, of which there are only ten on the entire server. It is one of the rarest of the excavated weapons, which are not available for purchase in shops. It trades at the very high price of 20 million credits, which is about 200,000 yen in real money.
