Dire Wolf (ダイアー・ウルフ, Daiā Urufu?) is a low-level monster on the 1st Floor of Aincrad in Sword Art Online.
Appearance
Dire Wolves in Sword Art Online take the appearance of a snarling, bi-colored wolf with glaring red eyes. Its legs, face, tip of the tail, and the insides of its ears have white fur, while its back and stomach are dark brown. Its eyes make them unique from regular wolves in the game.

Aincrad Arc
After Kayaba Akihiko's announcement in the Starting City, Kirito leaves Klein and heads towards the next town. While on his way, Kirito encounters a Dire Wolf and easily defeats it with a single Sword Skill.[1]
